Fakes - The Next Big Plague

The Anti Fake's Post - A Tirade against all self proclaimed footballing pundits

By Shivashankar

Euro 2012 is here and so are the fakes! Last heard about during the 2010 Fifa WC, the hooligans are back! After being in hibernation during the UCL (due to the idiotic IPL), fakes are back in their epic moronic style!!

There are three kinds of people who watch football.

  •  The pundits – who love the game and live the game.
  • The fads – who watch the game only due to the absence of an alternative.
  • The morons/Fakes – who watch the game, without completely following any prior matches/tournaments, are generally idiots who want to make a statement to the world that they exist within the footballing horizon.

OMG!  - Petrified?!

By the time you are reading this, you could easily deduce the category which you are into as well as the category in which people in your surroundings fit into.
When an entire cricketing nation dropped open its mouth (and opened their waterfall of saliva) on April 2, 2011, during the finals of the ICC world cup, I was watching Sporting Gijon beat my favorite team, the team that I have stood by for more than two decades, Real Madrid.
And I till this moment, don’t regret watching a game of football over a cricket world cup finals.

I love the game and live the game. And I fall in category one.
People in category one are atypical in not tolerating boasts and tarts from category three people, who think themselves as pundits by just watching a tournament.

But what is it that we hate about the fakes?Apart from being pathetic, what are they?!

Thanks to Srini, here are a few lines compiled about ‘fakes’  J

1. Don't mention Messi, coz Messi plays for Argentina, and Argentina is not in Europe (hope u know that at least)...

2. Manchester United dont play in this competition...though Rooney will (after his suspension gets over)...so, u can still post updates about how 'awesome' Wayne's goal was (provided he scores at least one, on the pitch)....but kindly shelve 'Glory Glory Man Utd' for now...

3. Better stick to supporting England, Spain or Germany...coz u might never heard of most players playing for the other teams...

4. Post as if u've been supporting a team for life (even if u might have never watched em play before)...this will go a long way towards impressing whomever u are seeking to impress (normally gals who don't follow much football and are tricked into thinking that u are some expert on the game)...

5. Don't comment on our status updates...we don't exactly have kind hearts and we'll love to expose ur fake-ness...so, stay clear!”
