La Liga Gameweek 14 Review
By Shivashankar
Matchday 14 produced results as expected in the Liga, as power houses, Real and Barca picking up regulation victories and Malaga, being the only team to suffer a shock defeat.
| Racing Santander | 1-0 | Villarreal |
Villareal suffered yet another defeat that sent them to 15th place with a horrible goal difference of -9! Stuani scored the only goal of the game in 27th minute, as Racing got off the bottom of the table and climb two places to 18th.
| Sporting Gijon | 0-3 | Real Madrid |
Jose’s Real earned a hard fought, yet comfortable victory at El Molinon, which has become one of the toughest places to come away with a victory. Di Maria set one up and scored one for him, as the all whites maintained their impervious form. Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo also added their names to the scoresheet. Kaka was fit again and played for the final 10 minutes, as he looked in good shape.

| Barcelona | 5-0 | Levante |
Barcelona, after playing a midweek Liga game, showed no signs of tiredness as they swept past Levante. Messi scored one and assisted one, as Cesc scored a brace and Sanchez and Cuenca completed the rout.
Javi Venta, Ballesteros and the entire Levante defense had a horrible game.

| Valencia | 2-1 | Espanyol |
Unai Emery had to bring on Roberto Soldado, to secure a hard fought win against Espanyol. Tino Costa opened the scoring in the 6th minute as Hector Moreno cancelled out in the 68th minute. Emery, who rested Soldado, had no other option than to bring him on, and the striker proved his manager right by scoring on his first touch after being brought on.
This ugly game produced 9 yellow cards and Los Che, got very physical and rough, as they did against Real Madrid.

Carlos Vela, remember this guy?! This former Arsenal man, scored and inspired Sociedad as got a narrow victory at Anoeta, San Sebastin. Demichelis scored an own goal. The strikes of Rondon and Fernandez were insufficient for Malaga to atleast rescue a point. They now lie 6th in the table with a goal difference of 0!
